Andover Town Band News

August 24th - September 1st 2012

Andover Town Band have been invited to visit Northwest Italy (Piedmont Region). We will be playing a number of events during our stay, watch this space for further information.....

10th March 2012

Andover Town Band have come 2nd out of 25 bands in the 2012 West of England Regional Championship in Torquay, with this result the band now qualify for the National Finals in Cheltenham in September, a very impressive result in 12 months.

Andover Town Band Wins 5 out of a possible 6 trophies -
1st in the training band section, Best Band Overall, Best Solo Player, Youngest Player, Best Hymn Tune. A great achievement for our first ever training band contest.

Andover Town Band secure their first trophy after winning the 4th Section of the Wessex Brass Band Competition, in addition the band came 9th overall out of a 19 bands that took part on the day..

After a few short weeks back in existence Andover Town Band were very proud to secure their first official engagement. We were entrusted to provide a band for the Over Wallop rememberance service. The day passed very smoothly and the band was commended at the end for its first class performance.

We are very pleased to announce that Andover Town Band has been very generously sponsored by Andover based Mitutoyo. We are very thankful to Dave Thomson, Managing Director for giving Andover Town Band such a great start not only financially but by use of the Mitutoyo building for band practise use until we find a venue of our own.
